Bladder Exstrophy

Bladder Exstrophy is a rare, congenital abnormality that causes part of the bladder to protrude out of the lower abdominal wall and grow outside of the body.

This is caused by the abdominal wall not fully form during fetal development. This abnormality can be corrected with surgery, but may leave sufferers with long-term urinary infections, incontinence and various other bladder-related complications.
